Listed below are rods that were developed before we found the most popular models. All of these are still availble as special orders but are taking up room and we need to send them on down the road. Spin & Bait Rods

 

Below is a photo of some of the spin and bait rods I build, but more are available. This is a "group

photo" to give you an idea of how they look. Note that some of them are "in-line" and others still

have the "bayonet mount" add on tip. Some of the particular models will remain with the ferrule

mount because "in-line" is not workable. (If you want a closer look email me and I'll send you a photo of an individual rod so you can better see how it looks.)

 

Keep in mind that, like the fly rods, these are also as sensitive as an extreme ultralight rod where

you can feel minnows messing with whatever is on the end of the line, regardless of the rod weight

rating and strength. (Good info tool. Little ones don't hang around with the big ones.)

 

Unless you are going after the big sturgeon, halibut or tuna, I recommend that you look at the size

of the ones you usually go after and buy for that. Even the rod that works well on salmon will work

well on fish like Crappie or Bluegill because of their sensitivity. Just change the line weight you are using.

 

Here is a list, starting at the top rod and working down to the bottom, that are in the photo.

 

1. Lt 4 6' Combo. Works 16 lb or lighter mono for spinning and 3-8 weight lines for fly fishing.

   Great casting rod for either use. List price $215.

 

2. Lt 2 5'4" In-line Spin 10 lb or lighter mono. Easy distance casting. Great strength. List price $195

 

3. Lt 2 6'  In-line Spin 10 lb or lighter mono. Just a little softer rod that the Lt 2 5'4" model, but still a great caster. Makes the fish feel a little bigger. List price $215

 

4. M 5'6" Bayonet Spin 12 lb or lighter mono. Stiffer than the Lt. How big can you go after with 12 lb mono? Still very workable for the 10" Brookies. List price $195

 

5. H2 7' Inline Spin 20lb or lighter mono. This one has a really strong (20 lb mono) backbone but c be used for the little ones too. Easy casting & very sensitive. List price $235

 

6. Surf Rod. 12'9 or 13'3", depending on tip used. 30lb mono rated. Great long rod for the ones that want to do some real long distance casting in the surf. Special rod price $295

 

7. MH 2 7' In-line Bait 20lb or lighter line. 2 piece rod. Medium Heavy, fairly stout but still a great long distance caster. List price $235

 

8. M2 8' In-line 12 lb or lighter line. A little softer in feel that mkes even the smallest of fish feel respectable in size and fight. List price $255

 

9. ML 6' Bayonet 16lb or lighter line. One piece with ferrule mount tip. When trolling an "active" spinner you can pull the tip so it doesn't drive you crazy with all of the twitching. List price $215

 

10. MH 6' Bayonet 16lb or lighter line. Stiffer version of #9 for those that like a stiffer rod. Same great sensitivity and action though. List price $215

 

11. E50 6' Bayonet 50lb or lighter line. Designed, primarily, for boat use where you drop your line from the boat but will still cast a great distance. Takes a little time to get used to the sensitivity level. List price $215

 

12. E50 4'4" Bayonet 50 lb or lighter line. Short version of #11. Same attributes. List price $175

 

13. E80 5'6" Baynet 80 lb or lighter. The first rod developed for going after Sturgeon. You won't believe how sensitive it is, or how stong it is. List price $195

 

You may notice that the eyes don't run the length of the rod on the same side on the bait rods. This is done to reduce your risk of breaking the rod when playing a big fish. Most of the bait rods built have all of the eyes on the reel side of the rod and they get closer together as you travel up the rod. This creates a flex problem in the graphite and makes it easier to break the rod about 2/3rds of the way up the rod. No effect on casting but great strength and flex for playing the fish.
